Fall is soup season in this house. I love to cook stews and soups. It makes the house smell divine, and the leftovers are always so yummy. They freeze well, so I can cook in abundance and know that a meal is waiting to be thawed at a moment's notice.
My brother gave me a dutch oven last year for Christmas that I have been coveting for quite some time, and the color makes it perfect for this time of year.
My in-laws came to babysit on Saturday night, so I made this Italian Chicken Soup for them. It's so good, and so very easy. When short on time, I have even used a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store. We had the leftovers tonight for dinner. I toasted French bread in the oven with olive oil drizzled over the top. Then I rubbed a garlic clove over the heated bread. Delicious!
As for fall decorating, I am starting slowly. It was pretty warm here today, so it's hard to get into the spirit of fall too much. However, I did pull out the green pumpkin. My house colors are really fall/winter colors. I like it because the decorations seem to go with the rest of the house.
Thanks for all the inspiration out there. I have enjoyed visiting your sites.
