Snow Fun (Indoors)

A few weeks ago, I had about 24 hours to plan and run a winter-themed party for my little guy's preschool.  (Oh, I also had to do the shopping as well!)  I think Toad and I ate dinner at 10PM that night.

One of the online activities I researched suggested hosting a mock-snowball fight using cotton balls.  I liked the idea of fake snow using cotton balls, but I didn't like the fighting part.  So, I got to thinking about the task my little guy likes best during a snowstorm - shoveling snow.

Turns out, we own NINE small beach shovels.  I have two children, but nine small beach shovels.  Do you think we like the beach or what?

Unfortunately, we ran out of time at the preschool to do the activity, but during our hibernation, my sister and her shorties came over for an afternoon of snow shoveling in the family room.  They loved it, and so did we.  They especially loved being showered with snow.

This was cheap, simple, winter fun.

One beach bucket + sand shovels + 900 cottons balls + preschoolers = PURE JOY!

And all for the cost of the cotton balls - less than $10.  Fun stuff.

Great idea. My little ones would love that ... I'll have to borrow that idea for a playgroup day.
