Out of the Closet

While our bathroom was being done, we had to empty our linen closet in the bathroom.  Can I tell you how much I love having a large linen closet in the bathroom?  It's a dream because it provides tons of storage and added convenience because everything we need is right in that room.

Well, after the majority of the work was completed, I decided to paint the linen closet before reloading it.  It had never been painted.  Why does builder paint seem to drink paint?  It took three coats.

When we bought the house, not one closet had been painted.  This is the third closet we have painted.  Each time, I have chosen to paint the interior a white semi-gloss.  I love it.  The closets are clean and fresh, and they won't need to be repainted if and when we repaint the rooms.

I am attempting to de-clutter.  This linen closet has been a great first step in the process.  I have thrown out three garbage bags of unwanted items just from this closet.  Isn't that crazy?  Living without our bathroom for a few weeks has really taught me what we need and what we don't.  If we haven't dug it out of the temporary storage in our clothes closet, then we're throwing it out.  In the past, more closet space has meant more stuff.  So, things are changing.  And lots of crap unwanted stuff is coming out of the closet.
