soccer mom chronicles

I loved watching Brendan play soccer this fall.

He played his last game last weekend.

It was cold.  So I quickly grabbed a hat from the hall closet as we exited the house.

He scored 8 goals.  It was wild.  The opponents were calling him "the Shark."   As in the parents on the sidelines were saying, "Oh great, the Shark has the ball again."

Now, I will tell you, I have spent most of the last two months trying to prevent Lulu from running away from me or from removing the entire contents of my purse onto the grass, so I didn't see a whole lot of play.

I was so excited to see him play and play well.

It figures that Todd was on a boys weekend on the very last weekend when we were to bring the cupcakes for the team party.

But, all in all, I liked being a soccer mom.  I enjoyed our new Saturday AM routine.  And I will miss it.

I will miss it until spring when we will begin again.

The shark! What a great team nickname for him. You should make him a t-shirt! What cute cupcakes. Now wait til Lulu starts her own sports. You'll be amazed at your juggling skills.

Your Friend,
Deborah
